We are taking a trip to Hawaii in May , we will be spending four nights on Kauai, five nights on Maui and five nights in Honolulu. We have the following activities scheduled so far, however, I would love some more input.

Kauai - Family wedding, zip-line at Princeville Ranch, Tubing Adventure through the old plantation.

Maui - Zip line at Kaanapali, Bike tour down the volcano, snorkle trip to Lanai, Road to Hana tour.

Oahu - Grand Circle Island tour that stops at AZ Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Dole and Polynesian Cultural Center

My questions -

The last time I was in Hawaii was about 20 years ago, we took the bus just about every where we needed to go in Honolulu, I'm planning to do the same, however, I've also seen the Waikiki Trolley advertised. Should we buy the four day pass for the bus, or buy the four day pass for the trolley?

I looked at the Go card, would that be better to purchase a three day Go card and forget the Circle Island Tour?

Should we do the Lei greeting at the airport? Last time I went was on a package tour and I thought standing in line to get the lei was a little lame, however, we met a friend of a friend while we were there and he gave us a lei and it was really nice. We are not on a package tour this time, we will arrive at the Honolulu airport and then make our way to Go Airlines to fly to Kauai, we will be renting a car in Kauai so won't need a limo service, so if we do the Lei greeting it will be through an online Company and we could do it in Honolulu when we arrive there or at the Kauai airport. Any thoughts or suggestions?

One more thing, other than the Circle Island Tour and a spa visit, I haven't made any concrete plans for Honolulu. Does anyone have any must sees?

Hi, David We are flying into Honolulu and haven't decided if we will try to go to any of the other islands. I guess it depends on whether we can fill our time up by just staying on Oahu. Is there something special on any of the other islands that Oahu does not have? We have all decided to go to Pearl Harbor. Would like to do some shopping and probably do a nice dinner cruise. We are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary so want to do something special for that. Someone recommended Duke's for a good restaurant but they didn't say how expensive it was. We're wondering if Sea Life (I think that's what it's called) is a worthwhile activity. Also, which luau would you recommend? We've heard that some are better than others but no one's recommended any certain one to us. The kids will probably do Diamond Head. Our hotel is right across the street from the International Market Place so we'll go there. I would like to go whale watching but I guess this isn't the right time of year for that. I'm not sure whether the Polynesian Cultural Center is something we would enjoy or not. Can't tell from what I've read on the internet. Saw something about a WikiWike 3 Day Pass--that's where we saw a circle island tour, which sounds kind of interesting. Is the show that goes along with that package a recommended show? Also have heard about a flea market that is outside of the football stadium on Tuesdays and Saturdays. These are some of the activities we are considering. Would like your opinion on which ones are better choices or if you have any better ones!!! Do you know anything about the State I.D.'s that someone told us about? Yes, Hawaii is one of the best beach spot in the world. It located in the north central part of the Pacific Ocean I went there many times and I love its beaches Molokai, Oahu and Lanai are top in my list. I really enjoyed in my previous Hawaii tour especially its outstanding activities like scuba diving, hiking, trekking and snorkeling as well.

It is the great information about Maui. Yes it is one of the best islands of Hawaii there are some of the outstanding beaches are located, if anyone wants water sports like surfing, wind surfing and diving so Maui is the perfect place for these types of activities.

Hi there. Planning a trip for the family (27 of us) and looking to stay in Kona for a few days. Like the King Kamehameha location; but real leary of some poor reviews I've seen. It looks like the more recent reviews are good; due to the renovations.
